Improving the Lives of Animals: Celebrating the First 25 Years of the Animal Welfare Program

LFS is proud to present this webinar series in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of UBC’s Animal Welfare Program (AWP). The mission of the program is to improve the welfare and humane care of animals in all facets of life through active efforts in research, education and public outreach. Join AWP alumni panelists to discuss today’s issues.

September 12, 2022: Achieving change in academia. Cassandra Tucker (UC Davis), Katy Proudfoot (UPEI), and Becca Franks (New York U).

October 3, 2022: Achieving change through government institutions. Mitja Sedlbauer (EU Commission), Amber Itle (Washington State), and Terri Giacomazzi (Province of BC).

November 7, 2022: Achieving change in veterinary practice. Dax Atkinson (Fraser Heights Animal Hospital), Alex Boo (West King Edward Animal Hospital), and Art Ceballos (Seafair Animal Clinic).

December 5, 2022: Achieving change for animals in Latin America. Ruan Daros (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, Brazil), Katia Atoji Henrique (Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, Brazil), and Pilar Sepulveda (Universidad Austral de Chile, Chile).
