ARC Sockeye Workshop - Singularity Container on HPC
Singularity is an open-source container solution, like Docker, used for running software on high performance computing (HPC) systems. Singularity allows you to package software, data, and libraries, to easily replicate research workflows across various HPC and Cloud platforms in an efficient way.

In this workshop, we will introduce Singularity containers, discuss use cases, and explain how to incorporate containers into your research workflows on UBC ARC Sockeye. Specifically, we cover:

Introduction to Singularity containers
How to deploy and run a Singularity container on UBC ARC Sockeye
How to build a custom container with the desired tools, packages, or settings
How to troubleshoot common container issues

Prerequisites:
1. Basic knowledge of Linux command line system
2. Experience with HPC system(s)

Format of the workshop:
2-hour presentation. Lecture-format.
